Ryan Murphy to exit Netflix, in talks with Disney.

Prolific producer is set to exit streaming platform when mega-deal concludes -but another looks to be waiting in the wings.

Ryan Murphy is set to leave Netflix at the end of his five-year deal, which was understood to be worth around $US300m ($AU441m).

US media reports confirm he’s in talks with Disney, although no deal is yet signed, which would reunite him with Dana Walden, now Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment.

He was previously under an overall deal at 20th Century FOX TV when Walden before moving to the streamer in 2018. The move would also reunite him with John Landgraf, who greenlit American Horror Story, Feud and Pose.

Murphy has been responsible for some of Netflix’s recent hits including Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and The Watcher, although Hollywood and Ratched were less enthusiastically received.

Upcoming Netflix titles include a second season of Monster on the story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, and a second season of The Watcher.
