  1. Chuck128….GEM/92 have also started Madam Secretary from the beginning….episode 3 of season 1 The Operative next Wednesday night…10.50PM….Also 9NOW…..which is strange as current series is on Paramount + ?

    1. Homeland has been one of the feature dramas on Nine Now for months. They started with S1 and added new seasons regularly, usually a sign that people are binging it. Now they have to do something with the FTA rights. Homeland was made by Fox 21 as a premium drama for Showtime cable. It’s a lot better than The Equaliser, Nines only first run drama, especially from S5 when they dropped the melodrama and turned it into a lower budget, but intelligent spy drama based on Carrie. The Equalizer is also on around midnight, on Wednesday when you know it’s going to be heavily disrupted and late because of the SOO and cricket, and has been streamed on Now for months.

  2. Another SBS oddity-last night at 2.00am or so they broadcast the final ep of ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ S3-I had thought it mighty be a recap of the situation for the 4th season (which was shown a while back but hasn’t been repeated yet)-the 4th doesn’t appear in the line up anywhere over the next week at least, so why show a random ep?

  3. The upcoming Warnie mini series looks awful, looks like it was made by the same people responsible for Underbelly etc, lots of loud music used in promo, probably full of bad acting and a terrible script. I won’t be watching Warnie.

  4. An odd thing on ABC2 very late night tonight-‘Tipping The Velvet’, a BBC series from 2002-has been on ABC a few times since then, but not for a very long time-this would be the oldest thing shown on ABC2 apart from the odd film.

    1. Tipping The Velvet was the first starring role for Keeley Hawes & Rachael Stirling, and it had very good supporting cast. Not that unusual to put some M rated shows on late. The BBC also made versions of other Water’s novels Fingersmith and The Night Watch (which I haven’t seen).

  5. ABC Kids and ABC TV Plus appears with the channel information data as ABC Kids/ABC TV Plus without a space between the words and slash. This would indicate that the channels are more interchangeable than distinct in identity. As opposed to a space between the words and slash.

Given that ABC TV Plus has some adult content, is it the intention to be more interchangeable than distinct? If anyone isn’t aware, I might contact them directly. This is because the style guides and regional conventions are taught as such in schools.

I thought I should check here first in case anyone knows.

    1. I suspect you might be reading into it a bit too much – my understanding is that ABC Kids is 5am to 7:30pm, then it’s ABC TV Plus from 7:30pm onwards, so it’s fairly distinct.

Not putting a space around the slashes might just be to save space – some TV guides don’t give a whole lot of space for the channel name. For example I think on Foxtel the channel name overruns the space given for channel names in the TV guide.

    1. Was going to mention the same thing, also 3AW’s Jane Holmes (long-time Neil Mitchell announcer and TV segment reader) this morning also regarding the same thing with Tony Jones filling-in.

  6. So just to check – is that it for the 1% Club? I can’t find it on this week’s timetable so I’m wondering if they moved it again or if the season is over.

One of the ads in the show asked people to sign up for the next season on their website – so I guess that means it’s renewed?

  7. Email Newsletter: Ah Womans Daze…not unexpected….does anyone ever believe anything in them…I would not be even game to try the recipes for accuracy?…Same for No Idea 🙄…Sad really, they use to be my go to as a young woman before the magazine wars.

  8. Hi David I know this usually happens every a few years but what happened to over the 22,000 Responses here at the Tv Lounge because they have all been deleted and we now have over 2,000 Responses?
    Thanks

  9. Kudos to Seven’s regulatory affairs dept/classification team this week for Home & Away, providing a full-screen and audio advisory at the commencement of Monday and Tuesday’s episodes advising of “sexual threat / sexual assault” accompanied by a “PG” rating with “some violence” and “mature themes”. Not sure if required, but seemed like putting in extra effort, especially with ‘triggers’ these days and post-COVID world plus maybe felt it was pushing the M classification boundary regardless. Feel the public and ACMA give networks a bad rap still.

    1. On Monday it wasn’t just at the beginning.

About 5 minutes before the show ended they cut from Home And Away to the advisory message, then immediately returned to the show.

          1. An 8.3 on IMDB for the 70s show-would also recommend ‘Secret Army’, despite it being the plot basis for ‘Allo, Allo’!

          2. I watched a drama about the resistance and recovering airmen in Europe. Though I remember it as being French, but could have been The Secret Army. I can see how it was used by ‘Allo ‘Allo now you mention it.

  10. Memo Ch 7 – If you want us to get into The 1% Club, how about you remove the ever increasing water mark that covers some of the potential answers – multiple choice answer D in particular. Its very hard to “play along” when you don’t get all the information…

  11. I was anticipating The Idol, but my God what a mess. Soulless, derivative, unsexy drivel that completely contradicts itself and its themes at every turn. Is it supposed to be sexy? If so, complete fail. Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weeknd) comes across as a complete sleaze… creeping his way through each scene like a slug faced predator… he inexplicably tries to be mysterious and sexy but it is just so uncomfortable to watch. Lily Rose Depp is stoney faced in an opening episode where she’s required to do nothing more than be intoxicated by this guy’s aura… I kid you not, there is a dialogue exchange where her best friend points out that he is “kind of rape-y” in which Depp replies “I kind of like that about him”… what? It was like this was created by a 14 year old boy who’s just had his first wet dream… juvenile, uninspired and needlessly exploitative. Ugh. This took over Succession’s spot? Wow.

  12. Just a little note for Ch 7 regarding Ch 72. Last night’s schedule would have been better if “Pie In The Sky” was on earlier (say, 7:30pm) instead of late, after Christmas episodes of “The Vicar Of Dibley” and “Mrs Browns Boys”. I know they’re all repeats, but it would’ve made more sense. And, P.S. It’s only June. A bit early for Christmas themed shows. Just my 2 cents worth. 🙂

    1. 72 showed all 40 episode of Pie In The Sky at 7:30pm Tuesday a dozen times, which took nearly a decade. They well and truly wrung any value out of it, so now it’s cheap late night filler. They have bought repeats of Doc Martin, Call The Midwife, Heartbeat (even though Gem showed it recently) and Escape To The Country for 7:30pm. The only new episodes they show are Murdoch Mysteries.

  13. Talk about sticking the landing for the send off of Ted Lasso. Just an excellent wrap up of its main storylines and the right time to call it. The use of Cat Stevens during the wrap up montage left a real lump in my throat as that song always seems to do…
There will be Emmy nods for sure to Sudeikis, Waddingham and Goldstein. The show was often goofy but it never failed to make me feel good and put a smile on my face and I can’t say that about too many shows… it always wore its heart on its sleeve. As with most series finales though there was just a small smattering of potential continuations… Apple are smart enough to not let this world go… so I fully expect down the track we will get more… but one thing is for sure, the main Jason Sudeikis-led Ted Lasso show and story was perfectly wrapped up.

    1. The door was left ajar just enough to let us hope. I feel if they do it, it will centre on the new Women’s Team – possibly with Keeley playing a Rebecca type roll and Coach beard as the Manager…

  14. Looking forward to the Summit final tonight. So who’s going to make it to the Summit first. Jans, Isaac, Brooke or Lulu. Jans, I would never trust, a real Jekyll and Hyde character. Lulu & Brooke did the dirty on Alex who should still be there. Or Isaac who has come through all sorts of adversity. I’d like to see Isaac win however I have a hunch that Jans will prevail.

  15. Couple of slow tracked shows on Ten next week … FBI season 5 next Sunday night and So Help Me Todd Wednesday week after the final of North Shore. Both shown in US last September
