Broadcasters congratulate Logie nominees

Broadcasters are celebrating their nominations today in the 63rd TV Week Logie Awards.
ABC:
ABC’s Chief Content Office, Chris Oliver-Taylor said, “I congratulate all our nominees – from our presenters and cast members to all those behind the scenes who have contributed to giving Australians some of the best shows found anywhere in the world. We look forward to a very successful Logies night in Sydney on Sunday 30 July.”
Foxtel:
Foxtel Group Chief Content and Commercial Officer, Amanda Laing said: “We’re thrilled to be recognised with 17 nominations across our stellar slate of local Original drama, lifestyle and reality programming. We’ve had a massive year launching Australian Originals to critical acclaim and smashing viewing records as well as green-lighting exciting new projects for the future. Along with individual nominations, these nods showcase our commitment to discovering and supporting Australian stories and talent on screen as well as producing premium television for our customers. Our beloved colleague Brian Walsh was behind every single one of these nominations particularly his passion project The Twelve so we celebrate and honour him as part of this incredible recognition. Binge:
Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer said: “We’re over the moon about these nommies! Thank you TV Week Logies! To be considered for Outstanding is so exciting; but for Patty to be considered for Popular and not Harri actually makes sense. Just ask her mates from high school.”
Alison Hurbert-Burns, Binge Executive Director, said: “We are thrilled to see our Binge original, Colin from Accounts, nominated at this year’s Logie Awards. This show has been such a delight to create with Patrick and Harriet and our producing partners Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios and has captured Australians hearts. Initially seems a bit weird that they are congratulating nominees that they themselves put forward. Or do they put forward a whole swag of nominees and then a committee decide on the final names?
Was better when we decided the noms but guess social media and on air promotions skewed our thoughts anyhow.

The networks do put forward the names, and are not chosen by the public anymore. TV Week seem to be vague on who then chooses the final bunch of nominees though……
So indeed they are congratulating themselves for the handful of names they put forward. lol.
It was better when we were able to vote, and see the cast and programs that are in contention. We don’t see that anymore, which is a shame.
Yes but obviously some network talent don’t make it, so I guess they are congratulating the nominees that made the cut (the fact 3 home and away actresses are there may be a surprise to Seven….)
Yes. Also anything that’s axed or ended is less likely to get nominated because why should the network nominate it and waste a promotional opportunity. Same for the talent….10 don’t want to promote Dr Chris coz he’s jumped ship.
