Better Homes & Gardens: April 7

This week Easter treats, an outdoor entertaining makeover and Australia's first Mobile Wildlife Clinic.

This week on Better Homes & Gardens Adam, Juliet and Melissa make over an outdoor entertaining area while Dr Harry steps inside Australia’s first Mobile Wildlife Clinic.

Johanna – Nagi Maehashi: Recipe Tin Eats
Food guru and RecipeTin Eats founder Nagi Maehashi has enjoyed a meteoric rise, thanks to her no-fuss and delicious online recipes. Tonight, Joh meets Nagi (and her loveable dog Dozer) at the dog park, before going to Nagi’s house to see her in action. As Joh gets to know this cooking sensation, Nagi and her team prepare an Easter feast, including an exclusive recipe that Australia will see first on Better Homes and Gardens, Persian-inspired Jewelled Rice with Fish Koftas. And if that’s not enticing enough, there’s also a slow cooked lamb and Nagi’s Very Best Vanilla Cake.

Adam + Juliet + Melissa – Freshen It Up & Warm It Up
With the weather getting cooler, we often retreat indoors, abandoning our outdoor entertaining areas. But if you want to use this area through the colder months, now is a good time to get it ready. Tonight, the BHG team of Adam, Juliet and Melissa tackle one such space, giving the area a fresh facelift, making it warmer and more inviting with heating, lighting, outdoor furniture and then completing the look with beautiful Autumn planting.

Fast Ed – Easter: Parmesan-Crusted Lamb Cutlets With Mediterranean Greens
Easter is a great time to spend with family and friends, whether you’re at home or away, and the best way to do that is around a meal. Obviously, chocolate is synonymous with Easter, but so is lamb and despite not having a full kitchen to work with, Ed will show you how you too can cook a delicious lamb cutlet meal, even if you’ve only got a camp stove. Combined with leafy greens, nuts, bread crumb crust and middle eastern spices, this dish is a mixture of textures and flavours.

Fast Ed – Easter: Carrot Cake French Toast
For a sweet Easter meal both you and the Easter bunny will love, this Carrot Cake French Toast will hit the spot. Starting with a store-bought carrot cake, all you have to do is make the egg mixture and the carrot butterscotch sauce. These are both simple enough that if you’ve gone camping over the long weekend, even your little camp stove will handle the job. But if you’ve stayed at home, you can put the butterscotch in the fridge and continue to enjoy it for weeks past Easter. If it lasts that long.

Charlie – Cottesloe Garden
Depending on the size of your property, garden design comes with its own set of challenges. In Perth’s beachside suburb of Cottesloe, Charlie’s visiting a backyard that didn’t have a lot of outdoor space to play with, so the designer got creative and designed two immersive spaces that complement each other. With a clever use of layering, plant heights and textures, this garden certainly makes the most of what it has.

Dr Harry – Wildlife Clinic On Wheels
Dr Harry steps inside Australia’s first Mobile Wildlife Clinic and meets a team of volunteer wildlife carers and vets that help save our precious injured native animals. For 25 years these, kind, selfless people have been rescuing sick and injured animals, but sometimes the animals need more than just the care they can offer… they need a Vet. So, they managed to raise enough funds to buy and kit out a vehicle with state-of-the-art technology, aiding volunteer Vets in diagnosing and fixing the sick animals. Follow Dr Harry as he meets these amazing helpers and witnesses the Wildlife Clinic in action.

7pm Friday on Seven / 7TWO.
