Airdate: The Longest Feud: Chappell v Botham

New sports special looks at the rivalry between Australia & England through two legendary cricketers.

Next week Nine screens a sports special, The Longest Feud: Chappell v Botham.

Documenting the rivalry between Australia & England through two legendary cricketers, this is produced by Eddie McGuire’s JAM TV.

McGuire recently told TV Tonight, “The two blokes in question are great friends of mine who absolutely hate each other’s guts, Ian Botham & Ian Chappell. Chappell to me was the epitome of what Australian cricket was during the 70s the 80s. The captain of World Series Cricket, in charge of Dennis Lillee, Greg Chappell, Rod Marsh, Max Walker -all these great players.

“Then you’ve got Ian Botham who was almost Australian in the way he played, but was the antithesis of the Australians. He was the proud Englishman who went out and hit the runs to win the Ashes and took the catch that dismissed Jeff Thomson at the MCG.

“The show is why Australia and England have this amazing rivalry and then it’s their rivalry. They talk about each other, and then we put them face to face for the first time.”

7:30pm Tuesday June 27 on Nine.
